I was the kid that followed the rules
and made sure all other kids followed them too (bossy). I was this kid who got in trouble for reading after lights out. I was the kid who got into trouble for working ahead on the page. I was the adolescent that read myself to sleep each night. I was the adolescent that read ahead in the book when the teacher said not to. I was the college student who read the book the night before the test. I am the wife that reads until the sun starts to come up. I am the wife that with guilt answers “Two AM” when asked how late I stayed up reading. I am the mother who groggily makes breakfast because I had to read just one more chapter. I am the mother who had to take away the nightlight because I have a daughter just like me!
